1⃣ *Restrict App Background Data*
Why?
A good number of applications run in the background. Playstore can also update your applications without your notice in background, consuming data. Do this, save yourself from surprises!
*Technical know-how*
Menu➡Settings➡Data Usage➡Three dots at the top right corner of the screen➡Restrict App Background Data➡Press OK ✔
2⃣ *Use Lite Version of large applications that drain data*
Why?
Apps like Facebook and Instagram drains data quickly. You can confirm this by checking your current data usage.
You can switch to the Lite versions (available on Playstore) and see the vivid difference. (It may mean some features may be missing, but trust me you'd save a lot)
3⃣ *Switch off your Data whenever you want to use Xender or Flash Share*
Why?
When your Xender is on, your Hotspot is automatically on, and wouldn't be "password protected", even if you have set password for your Hotspot. This mean anyone can automatically connect to your Hotspot. Do this, and avoid the surprises!
4⃣ *Whatsapp Settings➡Deactivate media auto download*
That stops whatsapp from antomatically downloading media files sent to you, hence conserving your data.
