A mobile phone uses radiofrequency (RF) radiation to communicate with a nearby base station.

Once the station receives the signal from your phone, it is directed through the landline phone system.

If there's poor network, the phone increases its radiation level to compensate.
On averagely, the level of RF radiation from phones, to which your head is exposed, is about 100 to 1000 times more intense than exposure from base stations.

This means as you use a mobile phone excessively, your head constantly absorbs this RF radiation.
This #radiation, in addition to the #heat most phones generate during use, & the #glare from the phone screen (esp in the dark), can cause serious adverse health effects.

As stated in my previous tweet, heat & radiation from phones can damage sperm.
The glare from phone screens can cause eyestrain or tired eyed.

Research is currently ongoing to determine a possible connection between prolonged exposure to RF radiation & a certain type of brain tumor called #glioma!
These aside, when you constantly look at your phone screen (e.g. playing games) you tend to feel anxious, depressed or have tantrums when you're not with your phone.

When you have it, it's all you think about. You just can't pay attention to the real world around you anymore.
As you get addicted & glued to your phone screen long into the night, your sleep hours are significantly reduced, causing sleep problems like insomnia, headaches & anxiety.

All these in a long run, could take their tool on your physical & mental well-being.
In short, the more people get obsessed with their smartphones, the more their level of exposure to radiofrequency radiation, heat & glare. And the more the physical & mental health consequences.

This is particularly common among young people nowadays.
In view of these, we need to;

- make conscious efforts to cut down our screen time.

- keep our phones at a distance esp while asleep. &

- never let phones steal away our sleep time or the social time we need to spend with people physically.
No doubt, mobile phones play a great role in our day-to-day existence, but their excessive use can bring severe problems.

A mobile phone should be your friend, not your master.
